Internet Rips A Web Surfing Adventure

Hey there my little web surfing buddies; I totally went for a tubular ride on the interwaves and got sucked into some major rips. It was a major bummer and I would hate for you dudes to get dragged in. Ride the gnarly waves man, stay off the bogus ones. Here are a few of the things that really put a drag on surfing for me.

Snap Preview
This is one of the most annoying things to have been invented. Every single link you roll over creates a window that pops up and shows you what the website looks like. If I am that interested in seeing the website I will right click it and open it in a new tab. Snap is way to full on man and totally kills my buzz. I end up jumping out of that ride immediately and tend not to return.

Animated Overload
I do not have epilepsy but there are some sites that I am sure could cause it. Flashing animated graphics are not cool. No site should have graphics that fly across your monitor. A little subtle sparkle can be pulled off with some class but when you fill your page with glitter graphics and the like it makes a massive splash. I have no chance on staying on my board with all that annoying flickering in my face.

Wipeout
Who isn't familiar with the classic song by The Surfaris? I could be enjoying catching waves listening to this or many other great surfing tracks. Then all of a sudden as I think I am entering a wicked tube it all comes crashing down on me and I am hit on the head by my board and knocked unconscious. This is what happens when people have annoying music playing on their sites. I understand you like your music and wish to share it. I just don't see why you can't turn off automatic playback; Leave it to the surfer to decide if they want to hear it. I will not return to surf your waves if you insist on blocking my tunes man.

Calm Seas
I need waves to be able to surf man and any broken links kill the ride. Coming soon pages also fit in on this. Why even bother putting the link up and having a page saying its coming up especially if it is linked everywhere. I just got totally bummed at one site that has a massive banner on the sidebar advertising something that got me stoked to the max and its bloody coming soon. Then in the footer there was a link to it too. Don't bother until it is there. It just makes me go surf elsewhere and not as excited to come and try to surf the waves again. I am going where the thrills are man.

The Mouse
Don't mess with my mouse. If I surf over to your waves and you decide that you want me to have a square picture of some animal or make my cursor look like a shooting star that shoots around the page then I am out and never coming back. They are annoying not cute. You should not force horrible things onto your visitors.
